Guido Yannitto
Argentina 1981
He studied art at the National University of Córdoba, from which he graduated in 2005. From 2003 to 2005 he was granted a scholarship by the Antorchas Foundation, Argentina. From 2005 to 2007 he lived in Mexico City where he continued his work and training. In 2009 he did the program for artists at the Universidad Torcuato Ditella (Buenos Aires). In the same year he won a production grant awarded by the Fondo Nacional de las Artes (Argentina).
In 2012 he was awarded a grant to go to Antarctica for a month and a half and in the same year he won a collaboration grant from Mexico (FONCA) and Argentina (Secretary of Culture of the Nation) to live for 3 months in Mexico City.
In 2013 he won the Lucio Fontana award granted by the Consulate General of Italy to reside for two months in Torino (Italy).
In 2016 he completed the Escuela Flora program at Flora Arts and nature, a twelve months residency program in the city of Bogota, Colombia.
In 2017 he was selected for the Van Eyck scholarship, Multiform institute for fine art, design and reflection, living and working a year in the city of Maastricht, Holland.
In 2018 he did the Pivo Pesquisa program. A three months program residency in the city of Sao Paulo, Brazil.
In 2018 he won the first prize of the National Salon in the Textile category.
Since 2020 he lives in Salta, Argentina developing his work. He collaborates in the project: La escucha y los vientos, founded by Andrei Fernandez working and accompanying the process of a group of wichí weavers, indigenous women that live in the Pilcomayo river, places in the north of Argentina. In 2022 with Gonzalo Elias they founded Remota Galería. A gallery project specialized in contemporary art from Salta, Argentina. Winner of the Insitu award as one of the best galleries in the Utopia section, ArteBA 2023.
His work is part of different collections among which are: University of Maastricht. Holland. Banco Itau, Museo Macro in Rosario, Museo Caraffa and Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Salta, Argentina.
